Whatââ¬â¢s in store for nurses in 2018 The start of 2018 also means a new year for nurses! If youââ¬â¢re a nurse, you may be wondering whatââ¬â¢s in store for you in the coming year- both individually and for the field of nursing in general. Although nursing is a very broad field- nurses are employed in a wide variety of settings (including doctorsââ¬â¢ offices, hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, nursing care facilities, military bases, and home healthcare services), and their responsibilities can vary widely (based on their education, experience level, and licensure)- there are some general workplace and industry trends that we can look at to determine what kind of year nurses can expect in 2018.Industry forecastAccording to the Occupational Outlook Handbookà developed by the United States Department of Labor, the broad job outlook for nurses looking ahead is a good one- employment for nurses is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations over the next decade. A variety of factors are inv olved in this projected growth, including a growing senior citizen demographic (who will increasingly rely on healthcare services in their older years), an increased public emphasis on preventive care, and a growing rate of chronic conditions (including obesity and diabetes) that will lead to a wide array of healthcare needs. That said, if youââ¬â¢re a nurse- or thinking of becoming a nurse- and are wondering if itââ¬â¢s an industry with an abundance of opportunities or is experiencing over-saturation, rest assured you should not have trouble finding employment if you possess the requisite training, education, experience, and skill set.If youââ¬â¢re wondering which industries will have the highest levels of employment for nurses over the coming years, you can count on medical and surgical hospitals, doctorsââ¬â¢ offices, home healthcare service agencies, nursing care facilities, outpatient care centers, and psychiatric and substance abuse hospitals and centers being at t he top of the list. An increasing number of nurses are being employed outside of hospitals, a trend that is expected to continue in 2018. Home-based healthcare is a growing business, and expect to see greater job opportunities for nurses who are willing to travel regularly. Are you curious about the regions and states that will likely have the highest levels of employment opportunities? Expect the highest concentration and need for nurses in the easternmost and westernmost portions of the country, with varying levels of employment in the central states of America. States that you can count on for typically having the highest levels of employment for nurses include California, Texas, New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Are you hunting for a bigger paycheck this year? Top paying states, on average, include California, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Oregon, and Alaska.Industry trendsIf youââ¬â¢re curious about the big industry trends that are likely to affect the field of nursing in 2018, T ravelNurse Sourceà and Licensed Practical Nurseà recently published articles that included their top predictions for the coming year. Expect the following key predictions to have an impact on the field of nursing.Nursing shortageAs hinted at earlier, there is expected to be a shortage of nurses across all disciplines in 2018. The need for experienced and qualified nurses will only continue to grow as the population in general gets older and the levels of chronic illness grows. Furthermore, the average age of nurses is currently over 50, so the number of professionals retiring- and the need for new nurses- will continue to grow over the year and into the future. What does this shortage mean for you as a nurse? Plenty! If youââ¬â¢re a qualified professional this puts you in the ââ¬Å"driverââ¬â¢s seatâ⬠- allowing you greater leverage and options for choosing a position and having a prospective employer meet your demands for employment.Rise in technologyWeââ¬â¢re all aware of how recent advances in modern technology have changed nearly every aspect of society, and this includes the field of nursing. Technology will play an increasing role in how nurses perform their daily responsibilities, so expect new tools, simulators, high-tech devices, and other pieces of healthcare technology to be used on the job. Even basic record keeping has gone digital and mobile- today, healthcare professionals can access patient records at the point of contact, instead of having to go back and forth to a dedicated nursing station.Telemedicine has been a big industry buzzword in recent years, and expect it to continue and grow in 2018. Advances in technology have made remote healthcare (often taking advantage of video technology) accessible and affordable, andà it is an increasingly growing field in nursing. Those who get comfortable and experienced in telemedicine will be able to leverage the additional employment opportunities and flexibility it can provide. What does this mean if youââ¬â¢re a nurse or are thinking of becoming one? The bottom line is that the need for tech-savvy nurses will be a big trend in 2018 and beyond, and those industry professionals who possess the skills and mindset to learn how to master new equipment and technology will be especially valuable in the industry.More male nursesThe last several years has seen a sharp increase in the number of men entering the nursing profession, and 2018 will be no exception- expect to see increasing numbers of male nurses across all disciplines. If youââ¬â¢re a male and are thinking of pursuing a career as a nurse, thereââ¬â¢s no better time than the present to do so.The future of healthcare landscapePotential changes to state and national healthcare laws, and what will happen to healthcare in general if the Affordable Healthcare Act gets repealed (and what system would potentially replace it) could have a big potential impact on the field of nursing in 2018. We are current ly in ââ¬Å"wait and seeâ⬠mode regarding this issue, and only time will tell how this fully plays out and how it will effect healthcare professionals in 2018 and beyond. There you have it- some of the key predictions and trends for nursing for 2018. If youââ¬â¢re a nurse or are thinking of becoming one, use the information provided here to set yourself up for career success in 2018 and beyond.

Evaluation on the Validity of the Claim That American Public Education Has Been Consistently Lowering Its Standards and Expectations - Essay Example According to the survey conducted by ââ¬ËThe National Assessment of Educational Progressââ¬â¢ (NAEP), the result known as ââ¬Å"Nationââ¬â¢s Report Card,â⬠depicted the positive outcomes of the students belonging to 4th, 8th and 12th grade standard on an international basis. Whereas, in contrast to the reports that presented by NAEP, it can be viewed that the scores of the US were much of lower standard in the worldwide context (Gropman, ââ¬Å"Waning Education Standards Threaten U.S. Competitivenessâ⬠; Alexander and Leticia 325-327). It has been further argued that the aspect of ââ¬ËDownward Mobilityââ¬â¢ is haunting the education system of America. The students in the US are avoiding in attending schools and colleges with a fear that their juniors possessing greater education background will be much more educated as compared to them. Further details on the argument for the stand i.e. ââ¬ËAmerican Public Educationââ¬â¢ is getting consistently lowered in terms of its standards along with expectations have been cited with certain valued observations. For instance, Andreas Schleicher, who is regarded as a special advisor related to education at ââ¬ËOrganisation for Economic Co-operation and Developmentââ¬â¢ (OECD) proclaims that "It's something of great significance because much of today's economic power of the United States rests on a very high degree of adult skills - and that is now at risk," (Coughlan ââ¬Å"Downward mobility haunts US educationâ⬠). This reflects a clear picture about the prevailing education system of America. In support of the argument, the survey report of OECD revealed that the young adults are being more educated than their parents based on the ratio of 1:5. According to the viewpoints of Miles... This paper stresses that it will be a fallacy to judge the failure of American Public education system due to the persistence of various dissimilar viewpoints about the concerned subject matter. It is the result of the series of activities and the political interferences that eventually deprived the public education system of America from being flourished. In the study, it has been argued that racial discrimination, depriving the middle-class families, inequality and rise in the education expenditures are few of the reasons that contributed in consistent failure of American public education system in terms of lowering its standards along with expectations. The author of the paper talks his own oppinion on the problem of American public education which based system have not declined in recent days. There are several governmental policies levied upon the education sector, proving the effectiveness of the American public education system. It is the teachers who play an effective role in determining the development of education system of any nation. This report makes a conclusion that on contrary to the failure of the American public education system, the government is taking initiatives to implement changed rules and policies for improving the same. Furthermore, it has been viewed from the study that public education system of the US greatly affects five vital security fronts that comprise economic growth along with competitiveness, physical safety of the nation, US global awareness and US unity along with cohesion. Thus, it is necessary for the US government to formulate policies on immediate basis to develop the existing public education system of America.

Quiz 1 Spring 2014 for Escape from Camp 14 - Essay Example nce he constantly saw her as a threat to his survival in prison, especially during her childhood years in the prison, for example, since she beat him, and she was also a competitor for food to him (Harden, 3). The fact that the horrendous experiences in the prison that had taught him something different from what humanity is, he could not relate to what it means to be human, to have family, and to relate with others at a human level. His dark secret has now caused him agony, even after 7 years of freedom in USA, despite his attempts to reinvent himself through changing his name (Harden, 1). The memories of seeing his mother hanged and those of seeing his brother shot dead, especially coupled with the fact that Shin is the one who betrayed them is an experience that has completely incapacitated him, so much so that, after experiencing humane living condition and after relating with other people at a human level, he is unable to forgive himself for the betrayal. Shins behavior, like everyone elses in Camp 14, is completely different from that of people living in a free world, or at least those who were not born in a prison camp in North Korea, and his behavior is based on a radically different moral code. It is completely incomprehensible and even inconceivable in the mind of a person who has lived his whole life in a free world, for example, the fact that a son can actually feel glad and relieved by the death of his mother and his brother (Harden, 3). It is even more inconceivable why a person would like to betray his own family; his only family as far as he knows it, especially because Shin was born in a prison camp and therefore did not know any more family or relatives, other than the ones he had in prison. This is because love to him was a meaningless word, having viewed her mother as a threat from childhood, while viewing his brother as a stranger and his father as just any other visitor who cohabited with her mother five times a year (Harden, 3). Such are the

Pizza hut pan pizza Essay Have you ever had a pan pizza from Pizza Hut? I hope that you have. I understand the price can be high, but do not worry about the price I have a recipe for that same amazing pan pizza. It will cost you a fraction of the price and you could even use organic ingredients. The process that I will be going over today is making Pizza Huts number one crust, and the recipe that I am analyzing is the best that I have tasted, so if you want to know how the dough is prepared, the sauce is made, and how to build and cook a pan pizza you are reading the right essay. The ingredients that you will need for the dough, 1 1/3 cups warm water (105 F), 1/4 cup non-fat powdered milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 4 cups flour, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 (1/4 ounce), package dry yeast, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for dough), 9 ounces vegetable oil (3 ounces per pan), and butter-flavored Pam cooking spray. After you get all the ingredients you want to make sure you have all the utensils, large bowl, whisk, and measuring cups. Pizza, ââ¬Å"put yeast, sugar, salt, dry milk in large bowl; add water and stir to mix well. â⬠ââ¬Å"Put bowl and mixture off to the side so that it can rest for two minutes. â⬠(ââ¬Å"Pizzaâ⬠) at the 2 min timer add oil to dough mixture and stir again. Add the flour and stir until dough forms and flour is absorbed. ââ¬Å"Pull dough out on to a flat surface and mix dough so that the flour covers all of the sticky surface of the dough. â⬠(ââ¬Å"Pizzaâ⬠). Divide dough in to three balls. Using a rolling pin roll each ball out in to a 9â⬠circle. Place dough in to a warm area and allow to rise for an hour to an hour and a half. Now on from dough to sauce. I prefer this sauce because I love the flavor, but you could use any sauce that you would like. Utensils used will be large mixing bowl, measuring cups (teaspoon), and whisk. Ingredients that you will need for sauce, 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon dry oregano, 1/2 teaspoon margarine, 1/2 teaspoon dry basil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt. Combine sauce ingredients and let sit for one hour. I prefer after mixing put the sauce in the fridge for the hour, mainly because cold sauce tastes better. Now that the dough and sauce is mixed you will need to get cooking pans and topping together. For the pans you will need three 9â⬠cake pans. For instructions on Pizza, ââ¬Å"Put 3 ounces of oil in each of three 9-inch cake pans, making sure it is spread evenly. â⬠Now place the rolled out dough in to the cake pans, spray around the edge with the pan cooking spray. For each 9â⬠pizza, spoon 1/3 cup of sauce on the dough and spread within 1-inch of the edge. Distribute 1 ? ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese (I also use cheddar cheese) the toppings can be of choice. I like to put pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage, but like I said you can use any combination that you like even organic. After you have assembled your pizza, the oven should be preheated to 475 degrees, cook pizza till cheese is bubbly and outer crust is brown. I hope that a made a clear attempt to explain how the dough, sauce, and pizza is made. Even though this recipe is not an exact replica it is the closest recipe that you will find. The best thing about this recipe is the fact that you can make it however you want, add any toppings and use any cheese. I hope that you will use this recipe, and that it excites your taste buds as it did mine. Work Cited Pizza Hut Original Pan Pizza. http://www. food. com/recipe/pizza-hut-original-pan-pizza-91827.

School bullying occurs in every realm of society. Students suffer harmful effects when they are emotionally and physically abused. Society must take active measures to end this ongoing injustice of students and help school yard bullies in understanding the effects of their actions. One in every ten students is bullied at some point in their education process (Will 1). The FBI National Center for Analysis of Violent Crime observed that the victimization of students occurs more often in public schools (Will 2). The victims of bullying suffer from emotional distress, and they often have difficulties making friends (J Love 346). The distressed victims will have problems in the workforce and their future family if bullying stays strong in schools. School bullies may demonstrate their ââ¬Ëpowerââ¬â¢ in several ways. School bullies may mock peers, spread vicious rumors, play cruel pranks, or use physical force to ensure to their target that they are in charge (J Love 346). F urthermore, cyber-bullying is a growing trend in this technologically advanced society (J Love 346). Children often have unsupervised access to sites such as facebook and twitter. These sites make it effortless for school bullies to discriminate other peers. Solutions to help end school bullying must be thought out carefully by all school authority figures. One approach many schools have attempted is called a systematic approach. This approach involves strict enforcements specific to school bullying (Will 3). School authority figures are responsible for enforcing the rules in this system. In doing this the school bully is directly singled out as responsible for the violence in the classroom. Although this approach is well-meant it does not resolve the root of the problem. The authority figures cannot possibly comprehend why a school bully bullies (Will 3). School authorities taking interventive measures is another idea in helping prevent school bullying. Schools may start placing cameras on busses to catch acts of aggression from school bullies. Moreover, school officials may perform locker searches for any evidence of bullying, and they may hire security guards (Will 3). These measures often violate childrenââ¬â¢s sense of privacy. Although this measure is also well intended, it can have unanticipated results. Many children feel an urge to rebel when they feel their privacy is invaded, therefore; this method may cause more harm than good. This study is written to admit an architectural design icon, Richard Rogers. I will be looking at this adult male ââ¬Ës life and his achievements. Richard Rogers is my design icon because his edifices are bold, make bolding, attention-getting and of class, inspirational. To acquire the information and research I need, I will be chiefly garnering it from the cyberspace, interviews and picture every bit good as any books I can come across. Hopefully, after reading this study you will understand why Richard Rogers is considered a design icon non to merely myself, but the remainder of the universe. Richard Rogers As a individual, Richard Rogers has lead an unbelievable life, born in Italy, he trained at the AA ( Architectural Association ) and Yale University go forthing with an impressive sum of makings. Richard Rogers, his spouse Norman Foster and their married womans Su Brumwell and Wendy Cheesman, set up an architectural pattern called Team 4, although this partnership merely lasted a 4 old ages, Richard continued to get married Su, and make a new partnership with Renzo Piano when they so designed the first of many inspirational edifices, the Pompidou Centre. Richard won assorted awards for many different edifices, even though he did hold some jobs with the populace about his edifices, he did travel on to plan another edifice, the Lloyd ââ¬Ës edifice in London, which is much more popular today than it was when it was being built. Richard has visited many different states go forthing his grade in many of them, including the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, New York and Japan. He has inspired many people with his edifices and his finding. He has non being afraid of seting his thoughts frontward, and has been given both heartache and congratulations by the populace. He is committed to guaranting that his edifices should be ââ¬Å" people ââ¬Ës topographic points â⬠. The BBC invited Richard as the first designer to give the BBC Reith Lectures for a series called ââ¬ËCities for a Small Planet ââ¬Ë . Richard even became the Chief Advisor on Architecture and Urbanism to the Mayor of London, he has besides been a president of the Tate Gallery and Honorary Trustee of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. If that was n't plenty, he even went on to be knighted and became Lord Rogers. Richard Rogers has many accomplishments and has done many, many things over his life-time, below is a short timeline of some of his most singular accomplishments. Richard Rogers was born in Florence, Italy in 1933. Richard moved to London to travel to the Architectural association. He so went on to derive a maestro ââ¬Ës grade from Yale University in 1962. Richard met up with former Yale pupil Norman Foster and began an architectural pattern called Team 4 with their married womans, although the partnership merely lasted a few old ages, Richard rapidly found a new spouse, Renzo Piano, who together won the Prizker Price their edifice the Pompidou Centre which was built in 1977. His following chief edifice was Lloyds edifice in London which was completed in 1986 which became merely every bit much of a memorial as large ben. The European Court of Human Rights ( 1995 ) is really popular in France, for its antic expressions. The Barajas airdrome in Madrid was besides a caput Turner. The Millennium Dome though truly was a antic construction, stand foring so much in such a alone manner, this was completed in 1999. Another large undertaking was London Heathrow Terminal 5, there was so much to this undertaking, but it was eventually completed in 2008. And eventually, a existent memorial, Three Word Trade Centre, it is said to be completed between 2011 and 2015, it is to stand following to two other towers built by other designers utilizing the same manner. The European Court of Human Rights edifice in Strasbourg, Barajas airport terminal 4 in Madrid and the National Assembly for Wales edifice were besides antic constructions. The Pompidou CentreThe Centre Pompidou was Richards first edifice created aboard Renzo Piano in 1977, the design of which won the Prizker Prize in 2007 by fundamentally making the edifice inside out. This meant that all the parts you would normally anticipate to see indoors, like the stepss, air canals, plumbing, overseas telegrams, etc. were all on the exterior of the edifice making monolithic indoor infinite, which is peculiarly utile as this peculiar edifice was used as an art museum, in fact, it is the largest museum for modern art in Europe. Not merely was this edifice functional, it besides complimented its usage for an art museum, affecting its visitants before they even entered the edifice. In theory, holding the internal care, such as the plumbing and air canals, should besides do the edifice easier to keep. Another congratulating facet of the edifice is how each external portion has being colour coded to do certain they stood out instead than intermix in. The Pompidou ââ¬Ës original programs were really much more excessive to get down, including traveling internal walls and adjustable floors, which unluckily, did non do it into the concluding design. Richard was at first loath to set this design frontward as he was confident that the Gallic authorities would turn it down, but as it has it, they did n't, and although it was criticized at first and claimed to be ââ¬Ëugly ââ¬Ë it is now complimented on being ââ¬Å" one of the most singular edifices of the twentieth century. â⬠The central office for Lloyd ââ¬Ës of LondonRichard used the Pompidou centre as an inspiration for his following edifice, the Lloyds edifice in London. This was a monolithic undertaking as the old edifice was created in steel where as this one of concrete. Once once more the edifice was designed with its internal parts, outdoors, this even included glass lifts which were the first of their sort in the UK, every bit good as the overseas telegrams, stepss, pipes and even the lavatories. This, of class, left big unfastened infinites on the interior. Once once more the Lloyds edifice was brilliantly coloured and brilliantly lit. The populace at first feared this would do this edifice an ââ¬Ëalien ââ¬Ë is really ââ¬Å" regarded as one of the finest edifices on London since the 1980 ââ¬Ës â⬠The Millennium DomeThe millenary dome is another 1 of Richards ââ¬Ës creative activities. It is a really cagey design with 12 towers or ââ¬Ëarms ââ¬Ë squeeze outing from the white canopy which support the roof of the construction. Stretching out a monolithic 365m diameter, the Dome is the biggest 1 in the universe. The design of the construction is besides cagey as you will detect 365m in diameter, one metre for each twenty-four hours of the twelvemonth, every bit good as one tower for each month of the twelvemonth. Although you would of ne'er of realized until person mentioned it, it ââ¬Ës still a singular thing to hold built in. On the interior there was a big unfastened infinite with a fanlight in the centre of it all to make full with whatever the users would wish, which for the millenary, was split into 13 different zones to educate the populace in an synergistic manner, unluckily, the ?43 million constructing merely brought in half the expected visitants and was eventually converted into the 02 Arena. The millenary dome was a singular construction built for the millenary and had been planned for since 1996, and was originally planned as a impermanent construction to last merely 1 twelvemonth, but as it happens, it ââ¬Ës lasted much longer.175 Greenwich Street175 Greenwich Street is the future site of the 3rd universe trade centre. The construction will stretch up to 1155 pess with 71 narratives, four of which will be below street degree. The edifice will busy 200x 198 pess. The edifice itself has been designed to the highest energy efficiency evaluations. It is to hold a cardinal concrete nucleus utilizing a steel frame on the exterior of the edifice. It is planned to be completed between 2011and 2015 depending when the site is available to developers. The edifice will besides be accompanied by two other towers built by separate designers but hired by the same company, Silverstein Properties. All three edifices are to hold the same manner.London Heathrow Terminal 5Terminal 5 was eventually approved in 2001 after a 46 month public enquiry, the longest public enquiry in British history. In 2002 work had eventually started and was non completed until 2008. The new terminus means that the airdrome can back up a much higher rider capacity, but it will non hold any more flights, although conservationists say it will take to more flights and pollution. For the terminus to be built, two rivers had to be diverted. Using unreal waterways to successfully deviate the rivers allowed the ?4.2 billion edifice to be built. Terminal 5 had to include a railroad station and several other edifices every bit good as a control tower ; this truly shows how large the undertaking really is.MannerRichard Rogers has been accused of holding several different manners, he himself is committed on his edifices being ââ¬Å" people topographic points â⬠, although this is non usually classed as a manner, he surely has made it into 1 with his constructions have extremely big indoor infinites. Bowellism is another manner related to his first edifice, the Pompidou Centre. Having the internal constituents such as the lifts, pipes, stepss and overseas telegrams externally, means that there is an unreal sum of floor infinite, which, for an art museum, is really utile. Post-modern is referred to another one of his constructions, the Lloyds edifice in London, holding all the constituents clearly seeable, and so brilliantly painted, and so brilliantly illume When Richard was younger, he dreamed of constructing a Zip-up house where his parents would populate, a zip-up house fundamentally means ready to piece or a level battalion house. Having walls, floors, panels and so on prebuilt and fabricated doing the edifice energy efficient, and easy to set.DecisionAs you can see, Richard Rogers has lead a singular life, constructing many inspirational edifices such as the Pompidou Centre, go forthing his grade in many states such as England, and many metropoliss such as Strasbourg, he has received many good merited awards for his edifices and has even been knighted by the queen. He has an unbelievable design oculus, and is non afraid to travel outside of the box, or in some instances, the edifice, and even though some of his edifices have been criticized severely, in the terminal, they ever came out positive. The fact that Richard is still planing, and his designs still make the public pant is astonishing, hopefully he will go on to construct and design for every bit long as possible, and I ââ¬Ëm certain that many people will be inspired by his work and his life. All of these things, and many, many more, rebelliously make him a supreme pick of a design icon.RecommendationsTrying to urge anything for Richard Rogers is highly hard as he has done it all, he ââ¬Ës traveled, he ââ¬Ës married, he ââ¬Ës left his grade, he ââ¬Ës divine, he ââ¬Ës lived, if anything people should look at his life and do recommendations for themselves. Make what you love making, and do it until you die, do n't be afraid of seting your thoughts frontward, and battle for what you want.

Gender Oppression Through the Lense of Racism When it comes to gender oppression, it is important to view it through other systems of oppression because it allows us to understand the many different ways in which individuals or groups experience it and how these other oppressions contribute to gender oppression as well. There are people who suffer because of many systems of oppression, such as racism, poverty, or cissexism. These systems start to intersect, become dependent on each other, and they can only be understood all together as one sum. This is known as intersectionality. Moreover, when it comes to viewing gender oppression through the lens of racism, it could be either beneficial or harmful when we are dealing withâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦As stated by Jennifer Finney Boylan, ââ¬Å"white privilegeâ⬠still exist among white trans people because in a study conducted in 2012, black trans people did worse than white trans people when it came to discrimination within housing and employment. They also reveal t hat they suffered higher suicide rates. These statistics come to show that because of someoneââ¬â¢s race, they are subject to even more unfair treatment and are provided less support from their communities. Throughout the article, Boylan provides us with examples of the various deaths of trans people of color and what she was doing around the time when those murders occurred. These comparisons of her life and those of colored trans people, reveal how ââ¬Å"white privilegeâ⬠drastically protects her from the different types of gender oppressions suffered by other trans people. Furthermore, we seen that she is an educated woman who is able to discuss her experience as a trans women and how much progress has been made. However, this brings up the point of how we need to be able to view gender oppression through various lenses because as we can see intersectionality changes they way people experience living as transmen or trans women.
